Fire erupts in downtown Blissfield

An early morning fire has destroyed Cakes n Shakes at 133 South Lane Street in downtown Blissfield. Tenants in two apartments above the business escaped the flames.

Firefighters from five neighboring fire departments assisted Blissfield in battling the fire. The fire was reported at approximately 3:30 a.m. by a delivery man who was making a delivery to Cakes n Shakes.

Adjoining businesses Royal Expressions, just north of Cakes n Shakes, and a vacant business to the south received water damage. More information will be forthcoming as it is gathered, including pictures.
