BD Patriot women launch districts with a win

PETERSBURG — A game of momentum shift and sways panned out Monday afternoon, as the Class C women’s district basketball tournament was underway at host site Summerfield.
The opening district game between the Britton Deerfield Lady Patriots and the Erie-Mason Eagles resulted in the Patriots, representing the Tri-County Conference, defeating the Lenawee County Athletic Association Eagles by a final score of 49-42.
The Patriots will play Whiteford 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, again in Summerfield for the district semifinal match. The winner moves on to play in Friday’s district final contest.
