Hazel Brubaker

Hazel “Bru” Brubaker, age 81, of Blissfield passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family and under the loving care of Great Lakes Hospice on Friday, November 14, 2014.
She was the second child born to Tim and Georgia (Gust) Brubaker on July 30, 1933 in Blissfield Township, Michigan.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Blissfield. She currently attended church alive ministries in Palmyra, Michigan.
Hazel lived her entire life in Blissfield, graduating from Blissfield High School in 1951.
Hazel worked in the health care profession all her life.  She spent 44 years in the OB department at Emma L. Bixby Hospital in Adrian, 8 years at Grand Court, 4 years at Lynwood Manor as well as home nursing care. Hazel also delivered the Daily Telegram along with her family for 25 years via a motor route delivery. She loved to help others and crochet baby blankets for family and friends.
Hazel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diann and Shaun Warner of Blissfield; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Woolwine, Nathan Paul (Anna) Hairston, Hannah Warner and Rebekah Warner; 4 great-grandchildren, Luke, Leah, Gabriel Paul and Chloe; 1 sister-in-law, Sharron Brubaker, many nieces and nephews and special little friends, Willie, Jude and little Ben.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Ethel Pangburn and Arlene McMahon, 2 brothers, Richard and David Brubaker, 2 nieces, Mary Sue Pangburn and Sheryl Donbrosky and her nephew, Jason Brubaker.
Funeral services for Hazel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield with Pastor Benjamin Austin and Pastor Michael Daniels officiating.
Visitation were held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield.
