- Blissfield, Whiteford reschedule gamesCold temperatures coupled along with local snow flurries last Thursday and Friday caused both the Thursday Blissfield varsity women’s basketball/Columbia Central game to be cancelled as well as Friday’s Whiteford men and women’s varsity basketball contest against Whitmore Lake to be cancelled. The Blissfield Athletic Department announced the Columbia Central game will be scheduled Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. with junior varsity beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Whiteford vs. Whitmore Lake varsity men’s and women’s basketball game originally scheduled for Jan. 9 will now be played on Jan. 19 Men at 5:30 p.m. and women at approximately 7 p.m.
- BD sweeps Whiteford in basketball prior to holiday break
Britton Deerfield men’s and women’s basketball teams swept Tri-County Conference foe Whiteford Friday, Dec. 19 in Bobcat territory. The Patriot men picked up their first win by a sdore of 83-73, and the Lady Pats won 63-39, and go into the holiday break with a 4-0 record on the season.

The Blissfield men’s basketball team, for the first time under the direction of Coach Ron Estes, long-time Blissfield football coach, beat the Whiteford Bobcats 61-48 in season-opening action Tuesday, Dec. 9 on home floor.
A slow pace in the fourth quarter and pressure from the visiting Bobcats helped lessen the margin of difference.

- Blissfield women fall in district final
SMCC swept Blissfield three games to none to claim the class C District championship in volleyball at Erie-Mason Saturday afternoon. Scores were 25-17, 25-15 and 25-18.

The Whiteford Bobcats’ football playoff hopes were left on the field of the host Morenci Bulldogs who put a 42-22 bite on the ‘Cats in district final action Friday night.
But the Bobcats made it a fight. The game was scoreless through the first quarter, with Morenci going into halftime with just a 14-6 lead, which may have surprised some after racking up impressive point spreads in the regular season. The majority of the scoring came in the second half with Morenci putting 28 more points on the scoreboard to Whiteford’s 16 second-half point, and sealing the deal to advance in state playoff action next week.

- Blissfield volleyball finals-bound
Blissfield volleyball will play in the district championship game Saturday after defeating Summerfield’s Lady Bulldogs in semi-final action. The Royals earned 25-11, 25-6 and 25-10 wins for the opportunity to face St. Mary Catholic Central in the finals at 1 p.m. on the Erie-Mason High School court.
- Blissfield advances at BD’s expense in volleyball districts
The Blissfield Royals advance in district action Tuesday night, downing Britton Deerfield in in a three-game sweep.
- Whiteford’s volleyball season ends at districts
The promising Whiteford volleyball season came to a disappointing end for the Bobcats at the hands of perennial season-spoilers from Monroe SMCC in district action Tuesday night. Scores were Whiteford 25-21, then SMCC took the next three 25-10, 25-15 and 25-22.
- Whiteford wins in first round of playoff
The Whiteford Bobcats didn’t let rotten weather spoil their Halloween night. They handily defeated the visiting Lutheran Westland Warriors 64-6 and advance to play Morenci in week two of MHSAA high school football playoffs.

- Friday Night Football: Oct. 17
The Whiteford Bobcats made one step closer to the playoffs with a 56-7 rout of Madison Friday night.
Meanwhile, Blissfield and Britton Deerfield both suffered losses.
Blissfield hosted the Erie-Mason Eagles and fell to the visitors 40-24.
Britton Deerfield was defeated 61-8 by the Morenci Bulldogs.
