MONROE \u2013 Monroe County voters once again overwhelmingly supported renewal of the Monroe County Intermediate School District Regional Enhancement Millage Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vote was 10,334 in favor and 6,920 opposed, a 60 percent to 40 percent split.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The millage provides about $330,000 annually to Whiteford Agricultural Schools for technology learning and about $7.5 million county wide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the vote, Monroe County Intermediate School District officials extended their gratitude to voters for approving the Educational Technology Millage Renewal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis renewal is not about putting laptops in the hands of students. This renewal is focused on providing students the tools they need to complete beyond the school environment. It ensures continued investment in classroom technology, digital learning tools, network infrastructure, and student access to educational resources that support learning across the county,\u201d said MCISD Superintendent Steve McNew. \u201cWe truly value our community support.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participating districts include Airport, Bedford, Dundee, Ida, Jefferson, Mason, Monroe, Summerfield, Whiteford, and Monroe County ISD, along with Horizon New Bedford and Triumph academies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
