Lenawee County under weather warnings

At 2:54 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lenawee County. A storm cell moving from the southeast was approaching Lenawee County. Local law enforcement officials estimated a strong storm cell would arrive in Blissfield about 3 p.m. The thunderstorm warning is in effect until 3:45 p.m. A tornado watch issued earlier is in effect until 8 p.m.
All Blissfield athletic practices and events scheduled for Monday were cancelled as a result of the weather warnings.

Earthquake felt in Blissfield just after noon Saturday

Blissfield-area residents felt a few seconds of shaking just after noon Saturday when an earthquake measured at 4.2 on the Richter Scale with an epicenter reported near Portage and Galesburg, Michigan, rocked the mitten state for a few minutes.
No damage has been reported in the area, but dogs barked and houses shook.
