Fire crews called to anhydrous leak Sunday night

Leaking anhydrous ammonia resulted in a Blissfield Township fire crew being dispatched to the Crop Production Services location on Silberhorn Highway Sunday evening.
Blissfield Fire Chief Gary Crist said crews were called out to the location at 8:23 p.m. Three small tanks were leaking, he said.
It is believed there was a problem with a shut-off valve caused by the weather, he said.
Fire department personnel waited for CPS employees to arrive before suiting up in self-contained breathing apparatus and shutting off the valve.
Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour.
