Leon Brown

Litchfield Park, Ariz.— Leon E. Brown was born June 7, 1945, to Glenn and Audrey (Dings) Brown. He died Sept. 13, 2015 at home in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
Leon graduated in 1963 from Blissfield High School as co-salutatorian and went on to college at Michigan Technical University with a masters degree in the Science of Nuclear Engineering.
He went on to work in the nuclear industry including at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Phoenix, Ariz. as a start-up manager. He also started his own business, Leeda Enterprises, where he did consulting work. He worked for A.L.A.R.A. Engineer where he wrote decommissioning procedures for nuclear power plants in California, Michigan, Tennessee and Florida, and teaching procedures at seminars in France and Germany.
Leon and his wife Rheda enjoyed scuba diving in the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, Mexico and Jamaica. He also enjoyed golfing, carpentry and cruising in the Caribbean and along the waters around Mexico. Rheda preceded him in death in 2010
Leon leaves behind his daughter Connie (Grant) Belsterling, and grandchildren, Brittany and Grant Ryan Belsterling, a son Craig Harris and granddaughter Selena Harris, all of Arizona and New Mexico. Also surviving is a sister, Elaine (Jim) Filipek of Blissfield.
Leon was a gentle giant, a loving husband and father and a man of few words but surprising wit.
