District semifinal men’s basketball games played Wednesday night have determined teams for the district finals games to be played Friday evening.
The Royals took an early 3-2 lead and trailed Whiteford by four points until a three-point shot by Cameron Iott with a just over a minute to go in the fourth quarter to stretch the lead to seven.
On the other side of the District 70 bracket Summerfield gave SMCC a good game trailing only by five going into the fifth quarter.
Whiteford and SMCC square off at 7 p.m. Friday for the district final.
In district 69 at Hudson, Madison led by two at halftime and Clinton went on to a five-point lead after three quarters however, the Trojans kept their composure that led them to a five-point victory. Sand Creek defeated Manchester in the second game and will play Madison at 7 p.m. Friday.
The winners of both District 69 and 70 will advance to the Region 20 tournament at Ecorse.
