BLISSFIELD – US-223 was closed just after 9:30 a.m. Monday morning on the west end of the village when a dump truck apparently struck a power line.
At witness near the scene said a truck had its box up going down the highway when it struck the power line, causing the pole to fall to the ground. Authorities were not immediately available to confirm, but the power line was lying across the roadway in front of Blissfield Heating & Plumbing.
The closure caused a bottleneck for traffic turning around or driving on different roads.
Scattered power outages were reported as well.
