BLISSFIELD — The Blissfield Royal women placed second with 56 points in the first Lenawee County Athletic Association jamboree of the season hosted by Brooklyn/Columbia Central Sept. 10 with a new leader for the women. Freshman Isabel Cueto crossed the finish line first in the blazing heat for the Royals in a time of 22:46.98.
The Royal women’s cross country team followed up the league competition with the Fayette Eagle Invitational Saturday, Sept. 14, tying for second place with St. Ursula Academy. Abbey Zubke climbed back to the top of the Royal leader board with an 11th place finish with her fastest time of the season, clocking 21:36.
WHITEFORD — The Whiteford men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the Huron Invitational at Willow Metro Park with the men’s team placing sixth overall with 159 points and the women’s team was ninth with 245 points. Garrett Crozier paced the men’s team with a personal-best time of 18:41 to place 20th overall.
