Friday Football: Oct. 25

The Whiteford Bobcats gave the Sand Creek Aggies a 54-6 spanking Friday night to earn a share of second place in the Tri County Conference.
The ‘Cats, as well as the Britton Deerfield Patriots, will begin their state playoff quest next weekend. Please check www.blissfieldadvance.com  Sunday night to find out who Whiteford and BD will play as well as exactly when and where. And pick up next week’s Advance for “Destination: Detroit,” a special pullout section of The Advance chronicling the road Whiteford and Britton Deerfield have traveled thus far this season, and the path ahead for this year’s Michigan High School Athletic Association state playoffs culminating at Detroit’s Ford Field.
The Britton Deerfield Patriots ended the season Friday in a loss to the undefeated Tri County Conference champions Clinton Redskins 41-6. Mistakes and penalties plagued the Patriots who still will play at least one more week after securing a bid in the MHSAA playoffs. \
The Patriots tied Whiteford for second place in the TCC.
Blissfield played the Ida Bluestreaks tough Friday night right up until the end, but fell 42-24 to the LCAA tri-champion Bluestreaks. Ida shares the crown with Hudson and Hillsdale. It is Ida’s first league title since 1997.
Blissfield finished the season 3-6, and showed continued improvement throughout the season, but did not have enough wins for a playoff berth this year.
