Makayla Kaser, Blissfield High School, set a new school shot put record and the regional shot put championship at the MHSAA regional track meet Friday afternoon at Erie-Mason High School with a throw of 37 feet 9 inches.
And before the event was over, she was also the winner of the discus and will be headed for the state meet in both discus and shot put.
Blissfield’s Elli Betz won the 100-meter hurdles and was second in a photo finish in the 300-meter hurdles to qualify for the state meet in both categories as well.
