BLISSFIELD – Lynwood E. Leader, age 93 of Blissfield, passed away unexpectedly December 1, 2014.
She was born April 6, 1921, in Blissfield, Michigan, the only child of the late Lawrence V. and Hazel (Betz) Iffland. Lynwood graduated from Blissfield High School with the Class of 1938.
On July 28, 1940, she married Sherwood J. Leader in Coldwater, Michigan and they were blessed with 56 years together. Sherwood preceded her in death in 1996.
Lynwood worked as a dental assistant for several dentists including Dr. Bradstrum, Dr. Granzow, and Dr. Mallow. In her younger years, she was an instructor at Trick Brother’s Accordian Studio in Toledo. She enjoyed bowling and was involved in many leagues. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Janelle Elliott of Elgin, IL; Dalyne (Dana) Shinneman of Burr Ridge, IL; and Kerwin (Mary Ann) Leader of Blissfield; grandchildren, Kevin (Janet) Elliott, Juliann (Emeke) Ofodile, Erin Shinneman, Audra, Amy, and Austin (Taylor) Leader; and great grandchildren, Jayden and Leah Elliott.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church with Rev. Zachary Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow at Riga Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
