Village Hires Treasurer

The Village of Blissfield has a new treasurer.

The village council voted last week to hire Carrie Ritchie, who has 32 years of experience in the banking industry. She started Monday.

“During her years of banking, she gained knowledge and experience in management, budgeting, and strategic planning,” Village Administrator Danielle Gross said. “She has worked with regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.”

In addition to being a vice president branch manager at First Merchant Bank, Ritchie serves on the Milan DDA Board as president and has previously served on the Milan Chamber of Commerce as a past president.

Additionally, she is the treasurer on the Milan Youth League (little league) board.

Council unanimously voted on Ritchie’s hiring, which was recommended by the village administration.

Ritchie replaces Brandon Hudson who resigned earlier this year.
